Why do we accept things we don’t want to accept?

Have you ever asked yourself why we say yes to things we don’t want, like or feel uncomfortable in? Why do we it? Who is forcing us? There is obviously a reason for everything and a reason to our choices. And our actions have been shaped the way they are due to certain causes that made us reach to this point!

The ‘I like painting but I’m in dentistry’ type (No offense to them, of course.)

Some types know that they have absolutely no encouragement or personality to tell someone NO. They simply just want to please everyone and everything, no matter what they want or need. All they want is for everyone to be happy, and for the world to become rainbows and unicorns, with no recognition of the consequences; that one day they will burst!

The ‘peace, easy, eshta’ type

Others, want everything to come right to them. They say yes to everything just to solve the solution as fast as possible. These usually become desensitized because they know what happens every time when they argue on something they think is wrong. They solely shut down, and accept anything ‘w khalas’ because they just have nothing else to do.

The ‘please don’t leave me alone’ type

These kinds, like many of us, are basically just afraid to lose someone they love and are important to them. “We accept the love we think we deserve” from Perks of being a wallflower. That is merely what we do, we accept what we want to accept because we think that we are never enough, and so we complete ourselves by being okay to everything, even the unacceptable!

The ‘I actually don’t know?!’ type

We, humans, as a whole, don’t even know what we want! Maybe we haven’t found ourselves yet, or maybe we’re just too lazy, or maybe we still can’t differentiate what’s right and what’s not. But what we know is that we don’t know. Or at least not at the moment! We could accept something now and regret it five minutes later, or ten years later even. Our priorities will change every now and then and what’s okay now could be ruthless later on. And that is totally okay, because most individuals are like that, but we could still live and move on and start new pages.

There are obviously many other types not mentioned, but let’s just agree on changing and becoming better people, and accepting what is good for us and healthy for your own self. We should learn the easy two letter word, because sometimes, it is actually for the good. Ignore everyone and everything, because who are they and what harm could they do?!
